There is nothing on this earth that is more comforting to me than a bowl of warm oatmeal on a freezing fall or winter day. It literally warms me from the inside out, and puts me in a jolly good mood. No matter what I have in the house, I am always able to create some sort of delicious oatmeal creation.
I am starting a new job as a Nursing Technician, and that means time is to the bear minimum now. Thank the Lord for the invention of the microwave when there is no other place to turn to. In less than two minutes I can have a steamy bowl of gooey oats just waiting to be topped with any goodies that are in my reach. How exciting!
I was inspired by this bowl because of the impending winter and fleeting fall. I wanted to pay respect to all the fall flavors I have come to adore… and who doesn’t love warm pears with cinnamon anyway?.. Well, to be frank, I had never had this combination before making this bowl. How sad is that? What else have I been missing out on in life?
I left my pear chunks a bit.. well.. chunky. 😉 Otherwise it has the possibility to turn into pear-sauce while cooking. I like the texture of leaving them a bit bigger, and leaving the skins on. It adds a bite, and earthiness that brings the whole bowl together… and who has time to peel a pear anyway? Ain’t nobody got time for that!
I topped my oatmeal with more fresh pears, and some crumbled Nut Clusters! Yummy in my tummy! 🙂
I hope you enjoy this bowl as much as I do, and I pray it will make you really savor those few sient moments before you start your day.
